How and why i'm here...
My introduction to the outdoors came through the Ten Tors Challenge in 2006. I enjoyed it so much I kept coming back for 12 years to train the teams!
I'd spend my walks wondering about the landscapes and wildlife around me. Then I discovered you could study environmental and landscape change at university and I was hooked!
After my MSc, I taught for a fantastic education charity using outdoor learning for social and emotional learning, often working with audiences new to the outdoors. I became an Accredited Practitioner for the Institute for Outdoor Learning, recognising my values and skills in designing and delivering outdoor experiences.
I'm very grateful for how the outdoors has shaped me and aim to use that to benefit of others. I also strongly believe that understanding of, and connection to, the outdoors is key to protecting it for the future. This led me to create:
DISCOVER - let's learn about the places we visit and look from different perspectives as we explore.
YOUR - Outdoors is for everyone and we experience it in different ways. I value creating an adaptable experience everyone can enjoy.
OUTDOORS - big, small, near, far, woodland, mountain, walking, talking...it all 'counts'.
